My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet.
~Edith Wharton

He sat at my feet, trembling. His paws paddling furiously, body writhing. And I could do nothing more than wrap a blanket around his tiny body and wait it out.

3:23pm onset of seizure
loss of balance
grand mal in appearance
disorientation
temporary blindness
3:26pm ictal portion of seizure over
3:26-3:54pm post ictal. Blindness. Hiding.

My poor Ollie...My poor little black dog...I am so sorry you are hurting...

"He has idiopathic epilepsy. We're doing some more bloodwork to see if there may also be a calcium deficiency, but for now, here's his Phenobarbital. Twice a day, every day, for the rest of his life, and we'll just keep him under close watch."

Thank you. Thank you so much for fixing him. Thank you for telling me it's going to be ok. That you've seen this so many times before. Thank you thank you thank you.
