Home sweet...well you know...

Coming home is kind of like slipping into warm water. It's familiar and safe. Home always welcomes you- if you're lucky. And I am. Mom offers food and drink until my belly is full and my eyes are sleepy. Stepdad hugs Ollie like he's another son. And the Bullfrog (little step-brother turned simply brother) snuggles like a champ and shows me his turtles.

Driving over the medium sized bridge tonight, crossing open water and almost-ready sailboats I was peaceful. The roads have changed over the years, and there's a WaWa now. They tore down the old post office. It was the size of a stamp anyway, and smelled like paper. But I loved it.

So down the windy roads I went, slowly. Brights on. So many deer always. Is it mating season again? What makes them jump so bravely across the road? Just wait little doe. I'll be gone in a minute.

And not long after I could smell the salty air. Walked in the door. Hugs all around. Settle in for dinner and laughs. Home really is where the heart is.

Off to Connecticut tomorrow (my other home) and more amazing family. Will post when I get back!
